Safaricom has partnered with ShowMax in an attempt to clinch online subscribers as school holidays enter the second week. In a deal meant to provide a one-month unlimited access to ShowMax at no cost, the offer is especially targeted at families for the April holiday season as both firms look to appeal to more customers.
As Safaricom offers unlimited access for the first time, ShowMax will benefit from the online traffic as Game of Thrones enters its eighth season on April 15th 2019. The online service is already offering Supa Modo, the critically acclaimed Kenyan film.
“We are glad to partner with Showmax to bring a whole world of fun and entertainment to our customers. Our fibre service has continued to record strong demand to connect more homes as more families seek to take advantage of the different possibilities, from a wide selection of entertainment options, home security, to the ability to comfortably work from home. We remain keen on such partnerships in an effort to meet this demand,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.
All Safaricom Home customers will automatically receive a link to the service once they renew their subscription through M-PESA any dates leading to 15th May 2019.
The link will allow customers to log in to Showmax from up to 5 devices and to stream from two devices simultaneously. Customers can further extend the validity of their subscription to the service for KES 250 per month by dialling *400*3# and selecting the Showmax option.
Showmax is a video-on-demand service that allows any customer with an internet connection to watch a variety of content including movies, TV shows and kids’ shows at their schedule. The service can be accessed across a range of devices including smartphones, computers, and web browsers on both internet connected Smart TVs or TVs connected to Smart TV Boxes.
